Moment of Bliss #013

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Moments of bliss|Multimedia experiments

I am lying on the border of warm and cold, cool and damp from a dip in the lake but quickly warming in the summer sun. The water beads on my skin and evaporates.

The sky, which had opened the day wearing shades of white and grey is now almost completely blue overhead.

I listen to the shouts of children amid the sound of waves hitting the sand. There is much happiness here and I feel like I’m absorbing it all, along with the sun, and it’s charging me up like a drained battery.

I turn my view upwards to take it all in.

What is it about sun and water that makes us so incredibly happy? As my dad-in-law used to say as he climbed out of the water and stretched out in the hot rays…”sun, beat down and heal these tired bones”.
