hate mail

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

To the individual who has spent so much time and energy writing long emails telling me:

– that I’m a liar
– that I’m stupid
– that I’m ruining my children (in several different ways)
– that I should be ashamed of myself
– that I’m an ungrateful brute
– that I’m a bad person

I’m not reading any more of your emails.

I am very sad for you. And sad for me. I hope you find some support somewhere, because you clearly need some help.

Hi
There will always be someone in this world who feels that they need to put someone down or hurt somebody’s feelings etc. The world can be a cruel place and this person sounds like they were a “bully” growing up and continue to be a bully but now has access to a computer. How sad. But like all things one comes across this too can be turned into a “teachable” moment perhaps by the reaction and lack of attention you choose to give this person. I applaud you for your strength and conviction once again. You are a very good example for your children and you should contain to write about the things that matter to you and your family. The world needs more people like you in it. (sorry, this post just won’t stop…) J

I can’t believe someone would do that. I think that you are an amazing mom and person. I hope that I will be as great a mom as you. You always help me to think about things more deeply. I always look forward to reading what you have to say.

Good for you for taking the high road in writing this post and stopping reading this person’s emails. The Junk button on your email program will probably come in handy.
Don’t let it get to you. You’re a great person, a great writer, clearly a great mum.

You are very kind to feel “sad” for this person after they have been so horrible to you. Though you are right to feel sadness that some body’s life could be so pathetic and disturbed that they would not only think these things about you, but also feel that they must lash out with them.
But who I really feel sorry for are the other people in this persons life that have to be subject to his/her foulness daily.

Never let stuff like this get you down.
You’re awesome!

Really? I just can’t believe it myself. Obviously this person does not know you and is insanely jealous of you. You are a great Mom and wonderful person, I hope this person doesn’t get you down. I know it is hard when someone says things that aren’t true and you want to make sure they know the truth, but sometimes it just isn’t worth it.

Wow. I’m speechless.

All I can say is, good for you for not letting them get to you.

Don’t you just love delete buttons?

Blech.

Someone used their energy for that?

You know, I hear you’re no one in the blog world until you get hate mail. I knew you were pretty cool, but now look how cool everyone else thinks you are! :)

Thanks for your support everyone. It means a lot to me.

I’ve been thinking…
I think negativity requires more energy than kindness. I hope this person can learn to channel it elsewhere, otherwise they are just hurting themselves.
