Chickens and laptops

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

So I’m stuffing a chicken and finishing an article. (No, not at the same time. Not reeeeeallly. But pretty much. Ok. Yes. Yes I am!)

I’d much rather be doing something like this.

I’ve had a lingering cold for the past month and it’s starting to get me down. Gah. I’d love to hear something positive. Some good news! Got any to share? :)

Well, I’ve just given a university student her first real co-op job, which is kind of fun, and although nobody will care about this but me, I’m happy that all the creatures in my house – human and feline – are currently sleeping through the night. So, I’m sane – that’s got to be good news!

I’m graduating this weekend, and I got a call back for a second job interview. And, I’m on track in my training to run a sub-2:15 half marathon.

I’m apparently a bucket of good news. Sometimes I need to remember that. (Thanks!)

Just had a nice evening with a new family we’ve recently met because our daughters are in the same program together at our community centre. We met up at McDonald’s (so classy, I know!) for dinner and so the two girls could play together at the PlayPlace after eating while the parents and the one year olds visited together. It was a nice time, and I’m hoping a new friendship grows from it for our girls — and maybe the parents too!

The world may be going to hell in a hand basket, but on a personal level I feel like I am more at peace with myself, more mature, and better able to be the person I want to be than I was 20 years ago.

I have an exciting new focus for my life now that the littlest one is in kindergarten – I have started a wee little business of my own. Announcement coming soon. And also, sold my first ever magazine article, to be published in December. Yee haw!

Hope your cold is better soon.
