Ah, spring

Posted by andrea in: Misc. life|Ottawa|Photography

Yesterday was the first nice day we’ve had, since, well, for a long time.

Emma and I went to Dow’s Lake. This is one of the reasons I love Ottawa so much. How many cities do you know have a lake in the middle of them? A lake flanked by an arboretum and a big farm that’s open to the public? A lake that is surrounded by tulips in the Spring and other flora during the rest of the year? There are cyclists and pedestrians aplenty, dog walkers, drinking fountains, park benches and a canoe and paddle boat rental. Why on earth don’t we come here more often? I do so love this little lake.

Here’s photographic proof of the eye candy we took in yesterday. I must have hundreds of photos of tulips. I try to restrain myself, but I still have to snap away. How can I not? After enduring months of an almost entirely white/brown/grey palette the tulips are indeed a sight for sore eyes and S.A.D. hearts.

Weatherwise today will be much the same. Yay! The sun does my body good.
