Cream cheese addiction

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Ottawa|Recipes and Food

So I was at Tastes of Wellington West this past weekend. It’s kind of a street festival designed to bring people to the Wellington/Hintonburg area and showcase local businesses. I poked around and sampled food from a number of local restaurants. After awhile I was getting a little too soaked by the rain to hold out much longer (a busted umbrella didn’t help). Soggy shoes aside, I decided this was as good a time as any to pick up a dozen bagels at the Ottawa Bagelshop. As part of Tastes of Wellington, they were giving out samples of bagels and a new cream cheese, so I went ahead and sampled.

That’s when it started. This is where I am now…

… slathering every bread product in sight with bacon and jalapeno cream cheese. I just can’t seem to get enough of it. It’s light, it’s creamy, it’s got a real kick to it. Plus, BACON. Damn you Bagelshop! Just when I was trying to lose a couple pounds! ;)
