Dear heart!

Posted by andrea in: Oh! Things!

Ah. Nothing beats a vintage valentine! I love these. These are great. Why can’t stores sell these… instead of the Barbie/SpongeBob/SpiderMan/Whatevercrap they think children prefer? Why is it so hard to buy non-commercial valentines?

I have mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day in general. All in all, I like it, but I don’t go all nutty about it like some people. Perhaps it stems back to when I was in grade two, when the love of my life Steven Ceccetto (sp?) tore up the Valentine I had given him – right in front of me. He didn’t just tear it, he shredded it into teeny little pieces. It was heartbreaking. I had picked it out just for him too, tore it out of that huge perforated book that my mom had bought for me that year.

It was a picture of a lemon, and it read “Don’t be a sour puss.”

Oh Steven. Where are you now I wonder?
