Q & A with local author, Stefania Moffatt

Posted by: andrea tomkins In: Ottawa

My friend Stefania Moffatt recently announced the launch of her second children’s book, Headstrong, which is based on the true story of a girl born with a cyst on her brain and needed surgery when she was only nine days old. I wanted to ask Stefania a few questions about her projects and her writing process and […]

Many of my neighborhood peeps might already know Tudor Robins. I’ve gotten to know her a little bit over the past few years, mostly because (a) I am fan of hers and (b) our circles keep overlapping all over the place. And (c) if I can borrow a phrase from Anne Shirley, I see Tudor […]

This was one of the ideas I suggested when I was on CTV Morning Live on behalf of Capital Parent a couple weeks ago!

We drove to Barrie for a funeral yesterday. I don’t feel right writing about it in this space because the story of this life isn’t really mine to share. I am really only mentioning it in terms of context, but I will say that yesterday was a very long day and that the world is sadly […]

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human daughters: Emma (20) and Sarah (18). During the day I work as a writer at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, family travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa for families. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
