a peek inside the fishbowl

It’s Friday, the last day of a week from hell.

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

After nearly a week of fever, coughing, sneezing, and general malaise, Sarah finally started to get better. So I cheerfully told myself that I’d toddle her off to school on Friday (that is, today) and FINALLY get some stuff done around here.

  • I have an article to draft
  • I have art to catch up on
  • The house has decided it hates me and has untidied itself in a spectacular way

SO imagine my surprise when Emma brought home a reminder from school, which informed me that Friday (that is, today) is only a half day at school. I have to pick Emma up at 12:30 and afternoon kindergarten is cancelled. CANCELLED. This was supposed to be the 2.5 hours I finally use for myself, without the brain-squeezing echos of Dragon Tales emanating from the living room.

*runs around the house screaming*

Something very very FUN better be around the corner. That’s all I have to say.

Perhaps I’ll get started on my egg cosy. I totally need a pick-me-up.
