fairy hats and other things

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life|Photography

This was taken about a month ago, on the day a large tree was chopped down in our backyard. Sarah has a great imagination. Pictured above are some fairy hats she found growing in our backyard. (Who would have thought?) They’re not just hats. When you tear them apart they make a perfect little wrap around skirt.

When she’s not looking for fairy hats Sarah likes to arrange flowers in small bouquets.

These kinds of things always remind me to stop and look, and that the things around us aren’t always what they appear to be. :)

I am gearing up for a busy day. The girls are out. I have some work to finish this morning and an interview later with a very cool fabric designer. It’s for an upcoming issue of the “interiors edition” of Ottawa magazine. I am very excited, because I really love her work. Check it out here. Her silk pillows are especially gorgeous.

Have a good weekend everyone!

That first picture reminds me of Faith Hill’s “Fireflies”

Gorgeous photos. Always a good thing to “Stop and look”, sometimes we all forget to do that.

Hope the interview went well, sounds like fun, fabric designing.
