Indoor construction projects

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Easy ways to make kids happy

Indoor camping at its best

Since Christmas Day, Emma and Sarah have created a number of different buildings using their new Super Fort kit. I can’t get over how great a toy this is. Despite one big argument concerning the number of doors their structure should have, the two have been sharing it really well.

Yesterday they had it all set up in the basement complete with pillows and blankets. Their plan was to camp out overnight, but we convinced them to move it all upstairs to Emma’s bedroom instead. It would be tight (see picture above, there was essentially no extra room to move), but at least they’d be more comfortable … not to mention closer to a bathroom. We weren’t sure if they were going to go through with it, but they did. And they slept through ’till morning.

It’s been a busy day. We’ve already played in the snow, had a tea party with the neighbors, and eaten lunch. As soon as I’m done here we’re heading out to the park, fueled by extra cookies, eggnog and kinder eggs.

I hope you’re all enjoying your Christmas break!

I’m going to write a love-letter to Cranium. Really, that has got to be one of the best toys ever!! The only thing I can’t figure out is how to store the big purple panels…

Dani: the purple panels are framed with that bendable wire stuff. We have a pup tent made of it and I can never figure it out. But these are easier. You grasp the panel, one hand on each side, and twist them to halve in size. Then they fit in the bag.

We had this toy here for 6 weeks while testing it for the CTTC and everyone was sad when it left :(

Glad you’re enjoying it!
