It was a good day, BUT…

Threadfall… this mini-quilted ATC represents exactly how i’m feeling this very moment.

Green, slightly frayed at the edges, wavy wobbly, quick-stitched, unstraightly seamed, restful, restless, buttoned up and buttoned down… basically, all over the place and no place at the same time.

Must be the mid winter blues. I feel this way all the time this time of year. Your very creative to get this out of you. I need to be creative instead of thinking of Taxes ans stuff.

So very beautiful! All of the delicate details… the beautiful stitching! How long did it take to create one of them?

Thanks! After I decided what the concept was going to be I:

– cut two pieces of fabric for the background
– cut piece of flat quilting stuff slightly smaller than the pieces for the background
– chose fabric for the leaf
– chose thread
– chose buttons

Everything except for the buttons was sewn on a machine. The wavy parts were done by lifting the foot (the whatchamacallit that keeps the needle in place) and sewing randomly.

It looks messy from the back, but I like the final effect in the front. I frayed the edges a bit too.

All in all I made three of these. Two were traded. I think it took me 45 minutes from start to finish.
