There are so many great things to do here in Ottawa for families – for young kids and old ones too. :) Family fun (not to mention FREE family fun!) is part of why I love Ottawa so much.

Is that Lime Kiln trail? I love that walk. We took a hike through Jack Pine a few weekends ago and Hubby was surprised at all the bird feeding, is this the norm now?

Oh, I’d like to know where that is, too. So lovely! I just had a meeting at the Old City Hall down on Sussex, and was thinking (a) we should go wandering down there more often and (b) there really are a lot of lovely places to wander in Ottawa.

Thanks for the link to the Flickr toys!! Had been there before and forgot all about it!!

My kids and I just fed the chickadees (not in Ottawa of course) a couple of weeks ago for the first time…I had no idea they would eat right from our hands and it was alot of fun. I showed Mouse (my 4 year old) the pictures of the girls with the birds and seed on their hats, now we are going back to try that!

That looks extremely fun. Looks like you’re having really sunny fall weather.

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (24) and Sarah (22). During the day I work as a writer at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
