Chickadee n’ me

Day 23: chickadee n' meDSC_6625.JPG

… taken today at Sarsaparilla trail in Ottawa. You’re lucky you’re getting a photo of me ya know. The photographer hates to be photographed!

I have so many more excellent pics to post. BUT, tonight is Oscar night and I will be spending it on the couch with a bowl of ice cream and a hot water bottle. More tomorrow.

I just returned from a fab yoga retreat and most of the people attending were from your hood. They talked a lot about the latest developments in your neighbourhood. So much is happening. Even though I don’t live in Westboro I was in the know since I read your blog.

I love your photos with the birds. Hubby couldn’t believe it when we were at Jack Pine and they were coming right up to us.

Quick question, does Mark go with you on your outings every weekend? I try to plan at least one outing a weekend, but lately they get kyboshed. The trip to Winterlude was like pulling teeth, even if a great time was had when we were there. I would love to head to the trails with the kids and Hubby a little more often.

Thanks BeachMama.
The birds there are totally crazy.

I can’t stop taking photos when we go. It’s just so utterly amazing and fun. I know I write about this all the time (it’s one of our favourite things to do in Ottawa) but it’s just so easy. You, as the parent, control how far you walk and how long you stay outside. And seriously, how can anyone not enjoy having a little critter eat out of their hand?

re: Mark
Yes, he’s with us pretty much all the time. Thankfully his work and leisure life pretty much fits with ours :)

It wouldn’t be the same without him!

Our plans for Winterlude btw, got totally messed up, which is particularly ironic considering I WROTE ABOUT our big plans and they were read by thousands and thousands of people via SavvyMom etc. Gah.

Look at it this way: the best laid plans don’t always work out. You have to go with the flow when you can, and don’t beat yourself up when plans don’t work out. We live in a wonderful, kid-friendly city, there is stuff to do here all year round.
