The rundown

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Ottawa for kids|Easy ways to make kids happy|Ottawa|Photography

Friday: dinner at a friend’s house. Our children were all running outside at 10 p.m. while we adults drank wine and debated hot topics such as Webkinz: Good or Evil. Feel free to weigh in on that one.

Saturday: Saunders Farm with friends. We go every year. And every year it seems to get better. I love the mazes (umm, mostly to look at, not to get lost in) …

… and this year they have a bunch of new play structures, including a first rate pirate ship.

Jumping in the hay is fun too:

Sunday: I can’t tell you what we did just yet. I’m saving it for my next article for SavvyMom.ca. But, if you live in Ottawa, I will say that this Thing is Amazing and I’m Still Freaking Out About How Awesome it Was.

Today: gym (done), DIY snakes (come play along!), lunch (check!), laundry (working on it), other work (erm, in progress).

Phew.

Great blog, found you through the Non-Partisan group…

There’s a local farm here in New Brunswick that makes a different maze in their corn fields each year. My kids love it!

I’d love to know what you did on Sunday. Is it still happening in Ottawa?

I wish I had known, we had tickets to be used. You guys were brave for going in the rain on Saturday. Not that I mind getting wet, but getting Hubby there in the rain would have been impossible. And if it was sunny he would have stayed away from the crowds, sigh, that is why we went on Friday. But, it was great.

Love your Photos!

[…] In that particular article I didn’t have the room to expand upon our amazing experience at Hilton Lac Leamy. (That was what I had alluded to in my post on the 29th) This is a different kind of family fun in the Ottawa area. From time to time I do like to shake things up a bit, you know what I mean? Well, this is  my new favourite treat – a decadent holiday from the ordinary. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. […]
