Great looking igloo Mom! Glad to see that the roof is open…. too many accidents can happen with those closed in models.
Question, I noticed your great pictures of the children sliding but I was surprised that they were not wearing helmets? Am I being over protective when I suggest helmets for kids who skate and downhill toboggan? I know we didn’t have them when we were growing up (by we I’m referring to me and my “generation”, certainly not you or your generation!) but everything seems so much faster now, or am I really getting old and fuddy duddy? Hmmm… I’ll leave that one unanswered for now!!

Thanks JoAnn!
re: your helmet question

We always make the kids wear proper helmets when they’re ice skating. And by proper I mean hockey helmets. I see a lot of kids with bike helmets, and frankly, I’m not convinced they offer decent protection.

As for tobogganning, it really depends on the hill. But generally yes, if it’s steeper or if there are trees around I will insist they wear their hockey helmets too. They don’t complain. They’re used to it.
