I think this photo deserves to be on a motivational poster

Don’t you? But I need to think of a good caption first. Hmm.

There happens to be a pretty cool detail in there. Can you see it?

ETA: check out another version of this photo, new and improved with Mark’s crayzee Photoshop skillz.

Beautiful shot. I’m becoming more interested in photography having seen the great pictures you get of your kids and put on your blog. Can I ask what kind of camera and lenses you use? And do you post-process your shots using any particular software?

I use tequila!

*snickers*

Thanks Lynn – I use a Nikon d70 DSLR. And this particular photo was taken with the regular ol’ lens that came with it. I also have a zoom and a macro lens.

I don’t usually do much post-processing. (This particular one didn’t have anything done to it.) If I do I usually make small adjustments to the exposure or colour within iPhoto, or sometimes, if I’m really fixated, in Photoshop.

The post-processing thing is something I’ve been thinking about lately. I do take my photo-taking pretty seriously and I should be taking the time to fix up each image before uploading them, but the reality is that I don’t really have the time to spend on this part of things.

I have also found that when I upload my images to Flickr they’re darker and blurrier than what I’m seeing here on the computer. But maybe that’s just me?

I’ve also debated starting up a photoblog…

Oh, there’s just not enough time. Not when the dust bunnies are calling me. ;)
