More fun things to do with kids in Ottawa: the RCMP Musical Ride

RCMP sunset ceremonies

Last night we attended the RCMP Sunset Ceremony of the RCMP Musical Ride. We had VIP passes, which entitled us to wine and cheese (and a few too many little fruity custard tarts) and what’s more, before the show started, all of our group was instructed to follow a pair of pipers to our own special seating. The rats girls really loved this part.

We went last year and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The girls love it, especially Emma, who adores anything that is horse-related.

The Musical Ride is only in Ottawa during the Canada Day long weekend, but it’s a little known fact that you can get a free tour of the stables. Here’s the info. It’s in Rockcliffe (a pretty drive from these parts), so you can combine it with a visit to Rideau Hall or a picnic in Rockcliffe Park.

Hi! We were there on opening night, and were not as lucky as you with the seating :) The girls loved it though, especially the Highland dancers.

VIP Passes?! How did you score them! I was there Thursday night and we loved it! Sat right up close on the grass and took tons of pictures… I blogged about it today.
