A date and a movie

Chantal kindly invited us to her place for lunch on Friday afternoon. It was a perfect day for a wee roadtrip. Chantal is funny and charming and fun to hang out with, and her kids are all of the above.

The photo below illustrates a big highlight for my girls (tho’ only two of them are mine) :

Guess what? HAY IS POKEY!

We had a wonderful time. Thanks again Chantal, for being such a great hostess!

Friday night was the last “movies on the beach” down at Westboro Beach. I was determined to go, after having missed it all year. They were showing Cars, which I hadn’t seen, so it was perfect. We went early,  dragged our chairs and a bucket and a few sand toys. I alternated between reading and taking in the view:

If I could describe this whole “movies on the beach thing” in a one word: Great. It was great. This show was the last of the year, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. The girls were very impressed by the whole experience, as was I! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was almost exactly like watching a movie at the theatre… expect I had sandy feet and smelled like bug spray. And guess who we ran into? Dani, Mr.Dani and their bevvy of boys.

A blogworthy day on all counts.

Wasn’t the movies on the beach a blast? I blogged it too. I love the pic of the girls running through the field… they must have been exhausted by the end of the night after a fun day like that!
