Emma’s new necklace

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Easy ways to make kids happy|File under crafty

… made by yours truly.

bamboo tile necklace

It’s made of bamboo tile and origami paper, strung on waxed cotton cord.

Do you think I could sell these?

If there are any local shop owners who’d like to give it a whirl, just let me know! :)

Heck yes! I love it! Do you have more? I would love one for myself and The Pea and of course, to give as gifts. Let’s discuss. E-mail me.

I’d buy one. Of course your profit is more if you sell them yourself but if you want them in stores, take a sampling on a nice little display-stores like that-and shop them around. That’s what I did when I was selling some ‘wares.’ Good luck.
Try Sassy, Heaven’s to Betsy and other whimsy type stores:)

You could definitely sell these on Etsy. I’m not sure if you can make a living at it!, but there is definitely interest out there. I think they are lovely!

Speaking of Etsy, how do you get that cool Etsy sidebar on your blog? I’ve moved all my favourites over to a new ID that does not include my last name (doh!), so now I’m ready to embed. So everyone can see the beauty of Etsy!

Thanks everyone. I have made a few more and am experimenting a bit. I will post a new batch soon. I’m not sure if I’m going to go the Etsy route. I’ll think about that some more.

Lynn: you need to login to Etsy, go you “your etsy” and find the link that says “mini Etsy” … you enter your preferences and you’ll get back a code you can paste into your website.

You could also try The Workshop on Dalhousie. They seem to have a lot of the stuff from Ladyfest crafters.
