our fairy detective

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Easy ways to make kids happy

Sarah and I were lying in bed this morning when she turned and felt under her pillow.

“So did the tooth fairy bring you anything?” I asked.

She loosened the strings on her small velvet pouch.

“Yep!” she exclaimed happily, and proudly showed me a two dollar coin. And then she got serious.

“You know how I know there’s a tooth fairy, and not a parent giving me money?” she asked.

“No … ”

“Because you never even give me fifty cents.”

Ha!!!

I love the morning after the tooth fairy visits…she will be back to our place very soon as Mouse has a mouth full of wiggly teeth!

Why do we hind behind elves and fairies when we give our kids things? These imaginary creatures get all the credit (I’m thinking of you, Santa).

Later, when they find it was really us who gave them all this stuff, we get accused to lying to them.

Sigh.
