25 days of Christmas: the twenties and some outtakes
Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life
Don’t ask how many photos it took before I got the one I wanted (can you guess which one I chose for our annual portrait?):
We’re almost done our Family Advent too.
December 21 – We spent extra time reading before bedtime and finished the Harry Potter book we’ve had on the go while munching on popcorn.
December 22 – “Coffee break.” The girls and I walked down to Westboro Village and drank hot beverages and ate cookies.
December 23 – ” Write down ten things for which you are grateful and hang it where we can all see it.” Both lists included things like family and friends. Sarah went above and beyond and included oxygen too.
And…
I also took the girls to get their hair cut for the holidays. Emma got her hair straighted and she suddenly didn’t look like a 10-year old anymore.
December 24 (today) – “Unwrap one gift, mum and dad get to pick which one.” This is a family tradition of ours. The gift is always the same… pyjamas!
Tomorrow’s will read: “Remember you have a family who loves you, and that’s the most important gift of all.”
A big thank you to those of you who played along with me this year, and also for your kind posts, emails and tweets. I am so glad to hear that so many of you have made the Family Advent your own tradition now too!

I love Christmas Eve, maybe even more so than Christmas day. I don’t even mind spending most of it cooking and tidying and doing last minute wrapping.
Tomorrow I will undertake another Hourly Photo post to document our Christmas Day. I will take a photo every hour on the hour and post until I go to bed.
I hope you and your families have a wonderful Christmas! Now, off to tidy the kitchen and get cooking.
