Summer = radishes

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Recipes and Food

Or more precisely:

Summer = two slices of seedy walnut bread delicately smeared with soft butter and decorated with two thinly sliced fresh radishes and a healthy sprinkle of sea salt.

Heaven.

radishes = summer

That is one of my favourite sandwiches too – except I like them tiny and crustless. I eat the same amount, just by lots of small things.

as you might already know i am not a sandwich person but i think i might like these. do you like your radishes hot and spicey or mild? i always wondered how to pick them so that i don’t end up with the crazy hot ones like i so often do!

I would have never thought of eating a radish sandwich. And yet I eat cucumber sandwiches…but with cream cheese. Maybe radish and cream cheese? I’ll try it your way first. Thanks for the tip.

Marla: I like your strategy. :)

Betsy Mae: You never know what you’re going to get in terms of heat, do you? I think it has to do with how the radishes were grown. I do find that the salt cuts the heat.

Binki: I might try radishes and cream cheese! I love cucumber sandwiches too. Yum.
