Preeeeeezenting….

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Fishbowl patrons|Ottawa

If you are the kind of person who’d enjoy an opportunity to chat with writers about their ideas and inspirations in a small, friendly setting you might be interested in The Writer’s Room, an intimate evening of story, song, food and wine to benefit the Ottawa School of Speech and Drama’s scholarship program. It’s going to be on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. and only 70 seats are available.

This year’s roster of writers includes:

… aaaaannnnnd yours truly. :)

The evening begins with wine, food and the opportunity to mingle with this year’s writers. Sommelier Derek Vollrath from the Savvy Company will present a special wine-tasting pared with a selection of canapés created for the evening by the chefs at Thyme & Again Creative Catering.

Each writer will read from their latest works, followed by a panel discussion hosted by best-selling author and song-writer Phil Jenkins.

After the discussion, there’s time for dessert, to purchase books directly from the authors and to request personalized signed copies. This is a special evening, filled with intriguing guests, exceptional food and wine.

The Writer’s Room is OSSD’s annual scholarship program fundraiser. There is no cost to attend, but at the end of the evening, everyone will be asked to make a donation. The Ottawa School of Speech & Drama believes that all children should have access to the enormous benefits gained through drama education. They are able to help transform the lives of children and adults through the generous support of donors, students, alumni and volunteers.

I hope you will attend The Writer’s Room and make a generous donation to the scholarship fund!
