Sometimes the smallest projects are the most satisfying, aren’t they?
Back in the fall I decided I needed a supply of rosemary over the winter. So I grabbed a spade and dug out the rosemary shrub in our garden, dumped it in a pot, and brought it inside. Amazingly, it survived. (I don’t have very much luck with plants if you must know.)
About a month ago I trimmed the tops off and put them in a cup of water. And now, we have this:
It smells lovely; earthy and clean. It is comfort. There’s a bit of a pine smell in there too I think, and a bit of something sharp, like laundry that has been drying in the sun all day but has been cooled by an evening breeze.
Did you know our eldest daughter’s middle name is Rosemary?
I have decided to put this bunch on my nightstand. I’ll let you know if I dream about roasted potatoes.
