New shoes and a night out

Awhile ago I was contacted by the fine folks at Shoeme.ca, a Canadian online shoe store. They offered me a pair of shoes in order to try out their service. How could I refuse? And how hard could it be to pick a pair of shoes from a website?
Turns out, it was harder than I thought. I’d go in with a few ideas, add to my wishlist, and promptly change my mind… EVERY TIME. Did I want pretty pair of casual shoes for wearing with jeans? Fulfill my fantasy of owning a pair of Miz Mooz? Finally replace my favourite pair of shiny red flats? Buy a pair of cool rainboots? Get some comfy new pumps for the office?
We are talking major SHOE PARALYSIS here folks.
It took me awhile, but a looming date in my calendar made the decision for me: the Governor General’s Performing Arts Gala. The National Arts Centre (a bloggy patron) kindly invited Mark and I to attend and I needed to get a pair of heels that would work with my outfit. I was going retro, all the way back to a 1988 (!) with a vintage dress… a black strapless number with a poofy skirt that makes shushing sounds as I walk. (Isn’t it awesome when you can call your own clothes “vintage?” I was 16 when I first wore that thing.)
But this is about shoes. I had neither the time nor the patience to go to the mall and I was in desperate need.
Comfort is a very important factor for me and I needed something I could stand around in for a few hours. And it had to be a dressier shoe with a lower heel so I wouldn’t tower over Mark like an amazon bride at the event.
Thankfully, the ShoeMe website makes it pretty easy to search for a particular style if you know what you’re looking for, so after a bit (more) browsing and numerous checks of different size charts I ordered this pair of black patent kitten heels. My only issue with the website is that a few of the shoes styles I was considering only had one photo attached to them, making it harder to make a decision about the shoe either way. (I need to see see 360 degrees of the shoe I want to buy, don’t you?)
Anyway, my shoes only took a couple of days to arrive, which was fantastic. It felt a bit like Christmas when they showed up on my doorstep.
And here’s the best part, they fit like a dream and are amazingly comfortable. They are honestly the most comfortable heels I own, and they make me feel fabulous.
Thank you ShoeMe.ca, for making me feel a bit like Cinderella. It was much appreciated and needed.
