About those mini meditations…

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

I forgot to add a few details about my post about mini meditations and wanted to add them here. (Have you entered that giveaway yet?!)

First, I brew my tea. Then, as it’s cooling, I do my meditation. I don’t use a yoga mat or a cushion or anything fancy. I just lie on my couch.

Sometimes, this happens:

Piper wants some space on the couch

I’ve been using an iPhone app for guided meditiation called “Take a Break” by Meditation Oasis. There are two free meditations on this app: a seven minute work break and a 13 minute one for stress relief. You can set the background audio to rain, stream, music, or ocean. (I prefer the ocean setting because I find it so relaxing. The other ones just make me want to pee.)

Once my mini mediation is done, my tea is cool enough to drink. I leave the ocean sounds on while I drink my tea. I do not allow myself to check my phone or do any work while there is tea in my cup. This, of course, is easier said than done. But I think I’m getting better at it.

Happy Friday everyone!

Boy, can I relate! I have been using Headspace for mindfulness meditations. I like style of gentle teachings while meditating.
