The Globe article on the meal kit…it’s interesting that no where does it mention that the convenience often, for many families, is directly related to lack of time. You choose to live close to work but your commute is ridiculously long due to congestion, by the time you get home, you simply want to heat and eat, not necessarily cut up raw chicken. Never mind kids being picked up and then the endless activities so many families are involved in…

It is my experience that many people would prefer to cook but the reality is that a 9 pm meal for a family with kids is neither convenient nor practical, even if it is much healthier in the end (and cheaper, too).

There is a huge need for healthy convenience food that is finally becoming more available. Yes, it cuts into the budget, but it’s still better to pick up a prepared meal at FarmBoy or order a decent meal kit than to stop at McDonalds on the way home after a 90 min trip that should have taken 25 minutes.
