Hear things

Posted by andrea in: Misc. life

It’s rare that I’ve had the opportunity to hear the voice of someone whose words I read on the Internet.

Well, here’s yours! You can now hear me sound like a nervous automaton.

Back in the early days of summer I wrote/narrated a piece for CBC radio. I finally have a copy of it, and have uploaded it for your listening, um, pleasure.

It’s hard to hear your own voice. Frankly, I think I kind of sound like a dork, and not nearly as sultry as I would have liked. E_NUN-CEE-AYE-TING EV-ER-RY SING-GLE WORD will do that. If I ever have the opportunity to do something like this again (despite my nervousness I would love to), I will try harder to just read, and not think too much about the actual words.

So without further delay: here it is. (Link opens 3MB mp3 file).

Whaddaya think?

You sound wonderful. Great story, too. You sound so careful in your enunciation, it’s muchly appreciated, though. Nothing worse than missing words due to mumbling.

Hen hao ting! :)
