Slow poke around the garden

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Ottawa|Photography

Progress is heartening.

There are Tiger Lilies…

… and crocuses coming out:

And I am happy to see that stepping stone I made survived the winter:

… but our fairy house didn’t:

… nor did our Christmas lights. (Remember these?) They were chewed to bits by the squirrels!

You win some and you lose some, right?

The sad news is that based on your photos I can tell that we are really having a slow start to spring out here on the west coast. Our spring flowers are at about where yours are at. Sigh!

Oh my goodness!!! Squirrels are pesky pesky…and frightening too!

We don’t have too much happening in our gardens yet. Except our lawn is in such bad shape from Walter the farting dog running like a lunatic (he pushes up patches of grass when he runs), our shrubs were pruned by his gnarly teeth all winter so some are looking pretty sad, there are several holes dug in the gardens where Walter likes to nap or hide his belongings which could mean the Elephant Ear Hostas, or irises, daffs and tulips, my Dad lovingly shared with us from his garden might be damaged too!!! What a brat!!!
