lol – I got the idea from Nancy, who in turn may have lifted it from Martha Stew.

They’re fried tortillas. It’s best made with fresh ones, but mine were getting a little stale and I needed to use ’em up. Fry them in a bit of oil and dust with icing sugar. They’re really good.

Ooo, cool! But I need details. Is that just a regular tortilla? Fried in butter? Pardon my ignorance, but I really do need both a photo tutorial AND recipes!!

Ok Dani: this is for you. :)

Take one regular white tortilla, large or small. Cut into shapes, or fold and cut pieces out of it (like you would a paper snowflake) if desired.

Fry both sides in a frying pan in regular oil (I used vegetable oil) until lightly browned and crisp. (This step only takes a few minutes.)

Dust with icing sugar when it’s done!
