Pop quiz – your participation is mandatory!

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

As I approach my 1000th post here at the Fishbowl (and that doesn’t include the posts in my Very Old Archives, nor the posts came before that and aren’t actually online anymore) I realize I still have lots to talk about. And I don’t forsee myself running out of things to say anytime soon.  But I have a question for ya’ll… what do you like to read here? What kinds of posts do you enjoy the most?

It’s not like I’m planning on tailoring my content, and I will probably continue just being me, but I’m curious! I would love to hear what you think. Thanks in advance yo.

I LOVE the contests (just got my printer last night ) and the mail stuff around the world like valentines last year. Other then that, I think because your girls are just a little older then mine and the same age range I like to see what you guys are doing for fun and the difficulties that may be happening. It gives me ideas and warning for the future (like that whole boyfriend thing, which I am not ready for).

What caught my attention to your blog, was the crafty stuff you did with your children.

– Marble Magnets
– Magazine Bags
– Sidewalk chalk
– Pirate Party*personal favorite

I love everything about your blog. I actually enjoyed reading your blog so much (when I started reading blogs), that I actually started to write my own.

Thank you. You’ve been a an inspiration

I love your “social tests”. That’s how i came to start reading your blog – you were on CBC radio one talking about the wallet you left at Bridgehead.

Oh and the peeps contest was cute too!

I like your crafts – the origami boxes, the magnets, etc. And your photos. And your love of vintage things, thrifting and shopping for neat things.

And the participation things – and lots more.

I like everything you put up here, I like that there’s a mixture of crafts and events and contests and food and everyday happenings.

Oh I love it all! You are so creative and your pictures are amazing. And you write beautifully. And you make me think about things. And it is fun to think that I actually know of someone who lives far away in the North when I am way down here in Texas…maybe I am just a tiny bit envious of that. Hmmmm…that might make me sound a tad stalker-ish.

Oh and I almost forgot. I love your ideas, like the one to reduce your media time earlier this year. I just love to see what you are going to come up with next!

Anyway….I love your blog!

I love the variety. You do a lot of things I wish I did, help me realize I want to do, or should do.

After you wrote about the disposable grocery bags I’ve started getting better at bringing my re-usable ones to the store. Your “Things I Love” make me realize I ought to be picking up those little things I love in the antique stores (like an old green touch-tone phone I passed up twice). And I wish I wasn’t so intimidated and did more crafting like you do. But I have no idea what I would do with ATCs.

I like the crafts (and the ATCs, natch). But I’m pretty sure you already knew that.

I love when you share your ‘project’s’…not buying anything for a month, the wallet, various art projects, as well as the fun activities you do with the kids. I enjoy your recipes, the neat ‘finds’ you manage to get. I feel I learn alot from what you share about parenting your two girls. Oh and when you make me stop and think about how I would react to a situation (ie. the recent post about the men taking pictures of those girls on the beach). I just like your writing so really, you can’t go wrong!

I love the ‘how to make a kid happy’ and the reminders of great things to do “cheaply” in Ottawa. My favourite was the wallet adventure.

I happily came across your blog just the other day and I am currently moving to Ottawa. So, I like reading about all your adventures with your children. I have a 2 yr old daughter, but I wanted to know what Ottawa has to offer for children. I like hearing about all the outdoor activities you do. ANd I really appreciated hearing more about the community spirit and activism in Westboro, we were considering Ottawa South or the Glebe, but after reading more and visiting in real life we have put Westboro on our short list.

Oh, I also loved your link to the Ottawa cheap eats and your comments on SUSHI…
Cheers,
Maggie
