The sound of Maplelawn, one of Westboro’s best kept secrets

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Westboro|Multimedia experiments

Radio was one of my favourite classes during my time at Carleton. I ended up focusing on documentary film production (which was actually what I wanted to do with my life at the time) but the magic of sound never really left me.

Sound is a very powerful thing. It brings you places that mere words and silent photos cannot. That’s why I recorded the sound of our dark and foggy walk this morning.

If you’re reading this now, I urge you to take a moment to turn up your speakers and listen to the sound behind the photographs I took for you. :)

Take a deep breath of cool foggy air, and come linger with me for a minute among the blackbirds and grey gravel pathways. Click the arrow below to begin. :)

omg…The male red-wing blackbirds have arrived! A big old raven flew over this afternoon while the kids munched on some tender little chives. Spring has sprung. Thanks for the recording.
