Am calculating…

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Misc. life

… the amount of money I could have saved over the years if I had been buying all my beer and wine in Quebec. (Which they carry at the grocery store. How civilized is that??)

Hi Andrea, I live in Hull and I do buy beer in Quebec (much cheaper) but I buy all my wine in Ontario (or most of it) …. taxes are higher in Quebec and you end up spending a few dollars more for the same bottle on this side of the river. But I do have to admit that when I’m grocery shopping, I do end up slipping a bottle of wine, or some beer in my cart, and that is very convenient :-)

Hm. In Switzerland, the beer and wine is in grocery stores too….that’s where I grew up. Now we live in Toronto.

I think my trips to the LCBO in the next few months though need to be slightly adjusted…

sniff.
