ATC doodles inspired by another

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Mail art

I borrowed a book about Norval Morriseau from the library. (Wiki info about him here).

His artwork is wonderful. And bright. I didn’t realize what role colour plays in his art until I had read more about it. He believed that we can be healed by colour. And I’m inclined to agree.

Is that YOUR doodle, inspired by Morriseau? Because I love it – and I am at a complete loss to figure out why every time I look at it my heart squeezes a little, as if I’m going to cry. I know it’s got something to do with the roots at the bottom.

Bub – I create/trade artist trading cards and this is one of a series of six I created for trading.
It needs a good home and I would like to mail it to you.

If you send me your address, it can be yours. :)

I got it! And it’s lovely.

I may be awhile working on my return-of-favour. I really suck at drawing (I know – no excuses), so I’ll probably do a collage. We’ll see what happens – my right brain is creaking from disuse. ;)

I’ve just posted a pic on my blog of the finished product (along with my absurdly naive enthusiasm about doing this!). You can look if you like, or you can wait until it arrives if that’s more fun – I’ll try to get it in the mail on Monday.

lol – I’m the kind of person who won’t shake the Christmas presents, but I had to go look.

Thanks in advance for the return… it will make a nice addition to my stash. :)

But more importantly, I hope it brought you some peaceful cutting and pasting time.
