March Break day three

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Easy ways to make kids happy

It ended up being a pretty good day.

– We went to Rainbow Cinemas to catch the early afternoon showing of Bolt. The theatre was totally packed. The line up was horrible and I doubted we’d even get in. We were one of the last people to find three seats together. I dashed out to get popcorn and waited while five people behind the counter completely ignored me. Thankfully the movie was a good one and deemed to be worth the trouble.

 – I bought Sarah a new allergy-free type pillow. Am looking for a pretty new quilt for her bed. Not much luck yet.

– We had dessert before dinner: Dairy Queen! Dinner consisted of pigs in blankets. I like fancy mustard with my pigs in blankets.

– We went for a stroll after dinner. It was so nice out!

Today: library, meeting dad for lunch, and maybe we’ll pick up some craft supplies or finally get to those cupcakes made.

Not having school-aged kids, I keep forgetting it’s Spring Break … and planning stuff like trips to the pool. This isn’t good, because really I could go anytime and avoid the crowds. But on the upside, my husband the teacher is off for a week!

The pools are a wreck! All the kids are out, and at the pools – and 90% of them have the flu… BEWARE!!!

Fun! Is Bolt appropriate for a 3 and a half year old? (My son saw Wall-E in the theatres and mostly liked it, and he loves Transformers).

Have you tried Gotta Paint?

Pigs in blankets – really taking me back to my youth!! I’m so making them for my kids one day soon. And Dairy Queen? Pure heaven!

Bolt might be a bit scary for younger kids. (There was even a warning posted at the box office.)

Dairy Queen: I can take it or leave it. As for pigs in blankets … it’s a rare treat around here!

Louika: We used to go to Gotta Paint all the time but my MIL moved to town a few years ago and we haven’t been back. She has her own kiln! :)
