Day three of March Break 2010

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Ottawa for kids|Easy ways to make kids happy|Ottawa

It began on the bus (kids LOVE taking the bus – at least mine do):

On the bus

We went to daddy’s work and got the big tour:

Media Mall

And took him out to lunch:

And then we pretended we were tourists and took in the views around us. (There is much to admire.):

Fairmont Chateau Laurier

And then went to see something most tourists don’t see. Did you know we have a cat house on Parliament Hill? It’s a matter of civic pride:

The House of Cats on Parliament Hill

Then we made our way down Sparks Street, wondering what it would look like if it was in Montreal or Quebec City instead of Ottawa:

Sparks Street Ottawa

Then we hopped back on the bus, swung by Bridgehead to grab me a coffee on the way home, and ate a special treat we picked up in the Byward Market:

After dinner we scootered and strolled over to Maplelawn, just to see what was growing (hint: a lot!):

All in all, a very good day indeed.

Every time I’m near the hill, I can’t resist a visit to the cat house. Sounds like a great day!

We were at Maplelawn for the year’s first picnic on Tues night. We sat on the benches in the corner (no picnic table yet). Maplelawn is a quiet gem; an amazing old 160 year old walled garden, nestled in beside the new BIG developments.

Awesome photos! Sounds like the weather in Ottawa has been cooperating like it has here in hogtown too! What a difference it makes when the sun is out…

Happy almost-finished March break!
