If you’re ever looking for something to do one night after dinner may I kindly suggest you check out Remic Rapids along the Ottawa River Parkway. It’s right on the bike path, but is also easily accessible by car.
It’s a lovely little place, especially while the sun is setting. The water is shallow (although I doubt it is fit for wading) and the rocks are perfect for walking along, skipping and stacking.
It’s easy to spend a lot of time there. It’s a nice place to sit and think and watch the world go by. And the geese.

I’d like to take a moment to welcome a new Fishbowl patron, Tag Along Toys. Yay!
Tag Along Toys is owned by Patti Taggart – a mother of one and an Early Childhood Educator. She knows kids, and she knows toys. When she’s selecting toys for her inventory she always looks at safety, durability and play value. As a parent I am keen on ALL of those things, and I’m glad to know there’s someone who finds them as important as I do.
I’m learning that it’s not about quantity of toys, it’s about the quality of toys. And when I’m shopping for toys I always try to ask myself: how long will they use it? How will they grow with it? Will it keep them engaged? (And in our case, where will they store it? *sigh*)

- … they love grandparents! On the last Thursday of every month, grandmas and grandpas can get 20% off their purchases. They offer discounts to teachers and educators too. I think that’s pretty cool.

Do you want to know when I tend to watch YouTube the most? When I need to brush someone’s hair. Many of the videos clock in at around 5 minutes. It is the perfect distraction while combing out the tangles.
