I can’t believe I am writing about this NOW. It’s THURSDAY for chrissakes, but it was so fun that I feel like I need to commemorate it somehow.
Mark was in Montreal for the weekend at a golf thing. The girls were very sad to see him go, so it was my duty to don my Entertainment Director cap and keep the troops entertained while their beloved dadda was away.
It wasn’t going to be too hard to entertain them. The weather has been simply amazing, and hey, we live in Ottawa, possibly one of the kid-friendliest cities all around! Woot woot Ottawa!
So. This is what we covered:
I spotted the package sticking out of the mailbox as I trudged home from a late workout at the gym.
Please oh please oh please let it be something fun for me.
(Yes, I’m selfish like that.)
When I saw Ms. Porter‘s name in the return address I grinned, and suddenly I knew what it was. She sent me a copy of October, by Richard B. Wright. Woot!
Her timing was perfect, because I have been desperate for something new to read.
And I almost almost missed it, but she sent me a little fishy game piece for our collection as well. So sweet.
Thank you Porter, you made my day!
My name is Andrea and I live in Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Sunny who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. During the day I work as a freelance writer. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
