This is where I was at 11:00 a.m., on the 11th day of the 11th month.

Looking up, and remembering.

I went to the Pinecrest Chapters last night to take advantage of a “mom’s night out” event. There’s another one tonight too (November 10). Everything was 15% off and 25% for iRewards members. (Let’s just say I became a member on the spot.)

After I was done I treated myself to a decaf-skinny-halfsweet-peppermint-mocha; the most hyphenated beverage I have ever consumed. I ogled Starbucks array of mugs. I am their target market. I love their stuff. (Look at this cute mug. I will buy two next time I am out.)

I have been graciously given tickets to attend the first annual Flaunt event on Wednesday, November 17 at Lago Bar & Grill. Flaunt is showcasing products and services of a variety of women in business from the Ottawa area. It’s about shopping, mingling-slash-networking, and (let’s be frank) getting an opportunity to ditch our sensible shoes.

Flaunt is organized by the Ottawa Chapter of Entrepreneurial Moms.

Tickets are only $15 per person and can be purchased at the door.

  • There will be swag
  • … and a cash bar
  • … and munchies
  • … and they’re also raising money for the Food Bank and Chrysalis House,  a home for women and their children leaving family abuse.

Lago is a really nice venue for a night out. You want to go. Really. But wear a coat because it’s a tiny hike from the parking lot across the street. (Damn those shoes.)

I have two tickets to give away to Flaunt and I’d like to give them to two different individuals. Please leave a comment if you’d like to go. Winners: I’ll have to meet you at the door to give you your ticket. I’ll do a random draw for two names at noon EST on Friday November 12.

So who wants to go?
